Send Them Away and Reap the Rewards
This past weekend, my group, the Brobdingnagian Bards performed at Barnes & Nobles during an Irish Poetry Reading. It was sponsored by the Gaelic League of Austin and a local radio program, Celtic Storm. Over the past few months we've developed quite a name on Celtic Storm. Donnelle McKaskle, the host, has grown to love us. We've performed a half a dozen events for KOOP Radio at Donnelle's request while we promote her show at every opportunity.
Check out our business cards, for example. The back of our cards will tell you day and time the show is on the air. Our flyers will tell you the same. Some even name CS's fantastic host, Donnelle. But the cards don't stop there. We also promote all the local Celtic organizations, like Things Celtic, the Gaelic League, and the Austin Celtic Association. All are valuable for our well-being, and in all honesty, we are valuable for theirs.
Could we get along separately? Yes. But why would we want to? We benefit one another. I try my best to send our fans to their businesses, because, well...it benefits us.
Send them away and you'll help yourself? Endorsements are the way of life for many businesses. Coca-cola works with McDonalds. Pepsi, Taco Bell. Each works symbiotically together to promote the other. And each reaps the rewards. And you can too.
